Data Center Work Completed, Service Restored

This week's work in the SJVLS data center, particularly the moving of equipment, has been completed. All services have been restored.

Please report any problems and/or service issues using normal procedures.

Network Services update

Phone service has been restored to the SJVLS offices.  Most core services have been restored, including Horizon, ValleyCat, database acceess, Internet access, email and file servers.  Some wide area network issues are still unresolved, primarily branch data circuits that did not come back up when the core network was restored.  System staff continue to work on resolving final issue in the WAN and servers and network connections for Fresno Co.

Update on Service Disruption, 4/30/12

As of Monday evening, access to library web sites and Horizon services has been restored. Some library locations have regained full access to the network, while others are still experiencing connectivity problems. SJVLS is aware of the ongoing problems and will have those resolved as soon as possible.

SJVLS offices are still without telephone service.

SJVLS Service Disruption, Monday, April 30, 2012

SJVLS will be moving equipment in our data center starting at 6AM on Monday, April 30th.  All SJVLS libraries will be without all automated library systems and network-based services most of the day.  This includes Horizon, ValleyCat and Telecirc, Internet access, databases, email, and websites (SJVLS, Coalinga-Huron, Fresno County, Kern County, Kings County, Madera County, and Tulare County website only) .  The SJVLS Offices will be without telephones for a portion of the day.

Network issues

Due to a failure of a core server, many SJVLS services are currently unavailable. Affected at this time are DNS services for some users/services, shared network drives, some personal file directories and some login profiles.
