SJVLS Receives Collection Development Grant

Access to eBook and eAudiobooks is about to get even better. The San Joaquin Valley Library System was awarded a $50,000 LSTA grant from the California State Library to purchase titles for the statewide Palace Project collection. SJVLS is providing a $10,000 match from our Online Materials budget, for a grand total of $60,000 to spend on eBooks and eAudiobooks.

SJVLS’s goal is to help create a collection that reflects the diversity in the communities we serve. We will focus on purchasing titles with perpetual use licenses so they will be available for checkout for years to come.

We are interested in your opinion on what you’d like to see added to Palace. Please consider answering a brief survey about your eBook interests. The results will be used to decide how to divide the grant funding across different formats and genres.
