SmartPay has been experiencing diffiiculty with completing transcations for everyone except Kern Co. The system has been clearing the fines/fees, but not completeing the final step of charging the credit card. Our vendor is manually completing the credit transactions, and they are working on a fix for the problem. In the meantime we recommend disabling your website links to the SmartPay system.

We are experiencing several problems with ValleyCat. Users may encounter slowness, searching errors,, difficulty loging into personal accounts and placing holds. There also seems to be some database connectivity issues. Nathan is working on the problems and has restarted the HIP server.
9;30 a.m. update: The restart of the HIP server seems to have resolved most of the issues we were experiencing. Nathan is still working on a couple of side issues that seem unrelated to the main problems. If you encounter additional problems, please e-mail the details to Nathan.

Our Internet service provider is doing maintenance on Sunday, October 21st, between 2 and 5 AM. This may cause the following services to be unavailable to home users: ValleyCat, SmartPay, database/ebook authentication, and the websites of Coalinga-Huron, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera and Tulare County.

All SJVLS staff will be attending the Fresno County Library staff workshop day on Monday, October 1. The SJVLS office will not be staffed before 11 AM that day.

The telephone messaging system that delivers notices and allows telephone renwals suffered some type of "event" on Friday 9/14 and shut down. It was discovered early Sunday morning and returned to service at approximately 6:30 AM on 9/16. Hold notices that would have been delivered by telephone on Saturday, 9/15 reverted to mail. The current server will be replaced in the next few weeks.
